SOFT SPACES
exhibition & workshop

June 23-24

Opening: Saturday 23 June 2018 17:00- 21:30
Sunday 24 June 2018 13:00-17:00

Soft Within presents SOFT SPACES, a pop up exhibition & workshop, in Straße 55, a new art space located at Simplonstrasse 55, in Berlin. The show features a collaborative installation by nine female artists.

SOFT SPACES focuses on the concept of safe spaces using the quintessential ‘adolescent’ bedroom as a backdrop to question not only their validity but ability to truly exist outside the self -a safe space of one.

By means of various mediums such as painting, sculpture, and video installation the gallery space transforms into an intimate place to pose conversation. What does a safe space mean to individuals? What does it take to create a safe space online or IRL?

The workshop accompanying the exhibition, invites everyone to take part in the creation of a piece responding to the exhibition. Experimenting with materials and colours on blank canvas, the final piece will be on until June 24.

About Soft Within

Soft Within was founded in 2016 by artist Dora Tarasidou and functions as a platform where artists, curators and creatives can collaborate, communicate and explore the new social essence. Focusing in matters of mental health, diversity and equality, Soft Within desires to become a manifesto of discussion, using art as a tool of healing.

Soft Within is a non funded initiative, help us raise some money for our next exhibition.
